The Ballad of Fallen Rock and Suzi Sioux

Aqui Ahora
the libretto

Aqui Ahora
Here. Now. A pun on Now Here, nowhere. Aqui also being a pun on the sonal: A key, the key of A, which the Act sonically explores. Raising animals as plants, have we become so civilized.

Lorrie Driver
As always, we are on the road, an endless river. As passengers, we are afforded a respite, even if we're going nowhere fast. The Lorrie Driver will take you there, now.
A motif from Vegetable Man, where are you. Here. Now.

Coming Down
We head into the final countdown, mere measures until the end. What have we found? Boy meets Girl, the Dance of Life. Is that all? Is it enough? But wait, there's more.

Perchance to Dream
Life. That which is hidden is often right in front of us.

Fallen
So much of perception is projection. Can we save ourselves from our own mistakes, our own accidents? Tears of sorrow, tears of joy, sometimes happen at the same time.

the Reckoning
But what of our protagonists Fallen Rock and Suzi Sioux? Was it an accident that erased all memory of the other? Did a car crash shred their shards of knowledge? Did a retake correct a mistake?
Who are Fallen Rock and Suzi Sioux?
Why, they are me and you. You and me. Yous and the me. Us and them. We are all them. We are the same.
I reckon.

Have you ever been so far away
     ever been inside

     the only here is now
     the future's just yesterday
you can plot that on a graph
fold the space and throw it all away

     help me I've fallen
help me please to get up

     now I'm gone
     now I've cried
     what has passed
     is still the past

     now I'm sick
     I am the cure

     first time I died
I remembered it wasn't the first

     I am the cure
     for my own sick
