The Ballad of Fallen Rock and Suzi Sioux

A Place for Birds
the libretto

A Place for Birds
The British often call to girls: "eh love" or "eh bird". I don't think there is always the burden of relationship, though that can be arranged. I think it's much like Baltimore waitresses saying "Hon". Short for Honey. Like what Bees do.
Our story continues in a Place for Birds. And Bees.

Bone Suite
Whatever suits you. The shadows, the light, the two sides of a coin are still the same coin. Life goes on. We are not prepared for the tedium of life, no matter how fleeting.

Phil et Sophie
Boy meets Girl. Again? Always. Are they the same? Are they just our actors dressed up in other clothes? Other suits, if you will ... Do they know each other? Do they recognize each other? Do they know that they are the same? Something has happened. Something is about to happen. Again. Always.

Interlude
From the conjunction of miasma, alignments condition happenstance.

A Place ...
Isn't that what we need? Isn't that what we want? A place where we can grow.

Surcease
The term is used to describe the recoil of musclature strength after exertion. Similarly, the neuronic nadir after an axonic firing in preparation for further exultation is called the trampoline delay. The Bounce. Like a Dance.

Don't let the Bone Suit hold you down
     Body achin' all the time
     Moaning to soar
     Bones know where to go

c: Bones know where to go

Don't let the Bone Suit get you down
Mud in sun turns to clay
Fly too high turn to stone
     Bones know where to go

c: Bones know where to go

c: Bones know where to go

Don't let the Bone Suit hold you down
Rock in light, in the heat turns to steel
     turns to ash
     Bones know where to go

Don't let the Bone Suit take you home

Phil and Sophie were starlost
crossing paths
in all the familiar places

Phil and Sophie went to the angel store
looking for illumination
they said, welcome to the new Rome

chorus:
I like your shirt, I like your shoes
I like your hat, I like you

I'm tired of falling
tired of falling
but I'll fall for you

Be kind to your ghost, (for) it is you
     a force of nature

come inside, take off the cold
come inside, take off the mold
come inside, take off the old
go outside, put on the bold

complete anonymity of an anomolous nature
